I love them both!!! By no means at all am I an expert, but the furry rug is not my favorite look. Kinda looks like the back of a dog. Maybe it's just the "shine" I see. I hope you don't hate me for saying that. *blushing* Otherwise I love the light, and what a gorgeous baby!

I love the shot of the baby, you got some good catchlights and a really beautiful expression on his little face.
The second photo I love the pose but with Mum in black and a black background it is a little hard to see her. Thanks for sharing!!!

These look great to me! Looks like you nailed the catchlights on the baby. I agree with the above poster about it is hard to see the mom against the black background. That is my only cc...great job!

I like both of these- you did very well. The first shot looks nice and crisp to me, but I would maybe try cropping in a little, to avoid the "amputated" hand. It might be a nice shot with a light screen light layer and conversion to B/W. It's very sweet.
The shot of mom and baby (cool that you used to babysit her!) is cool too. The black on black on black leads to "floating" hands and heads, which I *think* means you should have a hair light to seperate them from the background (but not a lighting expert). I also think I'd rather see this pose from the side, so you can see baby and mom's expression.

Please take from all of this that I do like these shots, I think you did great, and I think the mom will be pleased.

Sweet pics. Babies are tough I would say get close, really close. How neat, um 20 yrs ago? I was thinking that you barely look over 20!! LOL

I think the lighting looks lovely in both shots! The mom's shirt kind of disappears into the bg in the 2nd one though. But these are beautiful just the same, I'm sure she loves them!

I stink at people photos so I have no good CC to give (but I've learned from the other comments. Just wanted to say cute baby and cool that you used to babysit the mom.

I really love the little babe pictures they are so awesome. I agree with the CC about the pose. I would also get more upclose to get more of the person in the photo.
